What keeps me occupied during my free time? I read the Wiki pedia. It is full of useful information about every thing under the Sun. Take the article below which I pulled out at random.

From Wikipedia :
Character assassination is an intentional attempt to influence the portrayal or reputation of a particular person, whether living or a historical personage, in such a way as to cause others to develop an extremely negative, unethical or unappealing perception of him or her. By its nature, it involves deliberate exaggeration or manipulation of facts to present an untrue picture of the targeted person. For living individuals, this can cause the target to be rejected by his or her community, family, or members of his or her living or work environment. Such acts are typically very difficult to reverse or rectify, therefore the process is correctly likened to a literal assassination of a human life. The damage sustained can be life-long, or for historical personages, last for many centuries after their death.

In practice, character assassination usually consists of the spreading of rumors and deliberate misinformation on topics relating to one's morals, integrity, and reputation.
In politics, perhaps the most common form of character assassination is the spread of allegations that a candidate is a liar. Other common themes may include allegations that the candidate is a bad or unpopular member of his family, has a bad relationship with his spouse or children, is disrespected by his former co-workers, or routinely engages in disturbing, socially unacceptable behavior, such as sexual deviancy.

Wikipedia is so interesting isn't it?

Just to add, I would like to say that Singaporeans are so lucky to be living in a 1st World country where politicians conduct themselves in a gentlemanly manner and focus on the issues that matters most to Singaporeans. They don't engage in dirty politics such as character assasination which only takes place in 3rd world countries.

I just want to ensure that everyone understands that James Gomez situation is a serious one and it is not deliberate exaggeration.

Even though one look at him knows that he is not a Chinese and thus, a minority race and his NRIC must have also stated his race, but he is from the dangerous WP and the minority certificate is required to prove that he is a real minority.

I believe that the media must have reported wrongly and the real question from ruling party must be: ARE YOU REALLY A MINORITY RACE CANDIDATE?

Throughout the years, people try to assassinate MM Lee's and his party's reputation. They called him a despot, a dictator, corrupted and power hungry man.

Luckily, we have a fair and world class judiciary system to prove those allegations wrong, and punish those evildoers who spread rumours.

Whoa, this is a delusional blog! I'm dumbfounded.

Anonymous said...

I thought last elections James Gomez already certified to be minority.....

why must re-certify?

This blog is a poison itself. Truely a nice disguise by a PAP member to brainwash Singaporeans. Lucky? Lol. I think its Loser. _|_

Why does this lame ass carry the govt balls like praying to the God of Fortune??? SHAMELESS CREATURE!!!

Anonymous said...

Carry balls? You ought to be thankful for what you have. Our government has helped us reach such a high standard of living within 30 years. We have worldclass ministers (who surely deserve their million dollar salaries compared to the world class footballers who earn more but still misses a penalty kick now and then) taking care of our needs and MPs who take time off their busy work schedule to attend to us. PM Lee had already said that we must be contented with have we have and find bliss in it through his meaningful poetry during the NTUC rally. I feel so lucky to be a Singaporean!

patience and self-control are the key.

Wow, i really want to salute the owner of this blog.

Instead of character assasination, he idolises a character instead.

Wonderful!

ALL HAIL MM LEE!
ALL HAIL PM LEE!

Next time, all hail PAP LEE!

You like it don't you? You like to be squeezed of your money, paying rocket high prices for houses and cars and god knows what other things right?

Wow, you're one of the rare ones.

You know, you remind me of one of those donkeys, whose master abused them, make them do so much work, but when election time the master give goodies, you start to salivate and vote for them for another round of torture. Oh, but you don't mind... you don't mind at all do you?

So much for democracy huh?

:)

You guys are so ungrateful. If not for PAP you would still be living under Malaysia and in your undeveloped slums. And you can forget about using Internet.

She said joining politics was her way of repaying Singapore.

That's indeed admirable, how many Singaporeans are actually paying it forward? I really admire her for her sacrifice and time in order to serve our community together with capable ministers like Mah Bow Tan. Singaporeans ought to feel lucky that we have such a capable government that attracts all these talents from across the causeway, they certainly add vibrancy to our community and ensure our nation's survival!

"Clap Clap. I can always depend on you to give me a british comedy style sacarsm"

don't understand what is the above means. i believe this fucker nust be staying in british for a very long period aka british 007.

Anonymous said...

i noticed those who support opposition also like praying to a dog god leh.
why like that?

Anonymous said...

i look at this fucker James Gomez, really have not appetite. you pple still go and worship him. he look very evil. look like a evil sect leader. he is just another liar!!!

the truth is rarely pure and never simple said...

You are so wrong! The minority certificate thing is absolutely crucial! I mean, just by looking at someone face, name and his NRIC, you can't be sure. What if James Gomez was originally Tan Hui Hui? What if James Gomez has extensive plastic surgery a la Michael Jackson to change his Chinese features to Eurasian features? What if his NRIC is forged? He is a very dangerous figure you must remember!

And also, having minority races represented on our GRCs is very important. If we don't ensure that we have minority candidates, this whole GRC thing will be merely a ploy to make it more difficult for the opposition to win seats.

You really must realise the gravity of the matter!

the truth is rarely pure and never simple said...

btw, you can call me a traitor becoz i carry UK ball. i want spore to be destroyed. i am proud to be an anti-spore. you can check with 辛佳博克 , he is one of my gang.

Hmmm... I would say being grateful and wanting to move on in the political sc ence are two different matters.

I am grateful that PAP has brought us up to a First World country, economically... However, i think we really need to move on, especially politically.

If we only want to stay in our own comfort zone, how will we improve? We will be able to stay ahead that way? i am not too sure about that.

About the Gomez incident..
I am sorry to say but even if he tried to plan something, it had backfired on him... Definitely. no doubt... Until the over-exposure of it in all Singapore Media irritated me to the extent that i am avoiding televisions... I mean... I want more stuff on the election, not just one guy's 'plot'/'mistake'/'conspiracy' against the govt.. (I am pretty sure that they are the ruling party again...)

Politics, generally, are not as clean as what we like... Take a look at the different situations around the world... it is always about struggle of power and who wins or don't...

and just one last time... I am really wondering about your age now... as i feel that the things in your blog are all every anti-opposition... DId you even give them a fair chance by looking at their manifesto? or did even read the PAP manifesto? Are you sure the accusations you have made or the 'hails' that you have made are not going to change after reading those?

Not trying to diss you or what; just hope that you will view things from more point of views...

One thing I admire LuckyTan for is his fortitude in holding onto his style of expression despite being constantly misnderstood, mangled and misrepresented.

To set the record straight for anyone else who might potentially misconstrue: this blog is NOT a pro-PAP, hail-MM Lee blog. Neither is it an anti-opposition blog. It is what is known as tongue-in-cheek sarcasm.

Anonymous said...

seems like there are more anti-PAP than anti-opposition.

we should also look at the positive side of the PAP govt. I noticed most of the ant-PAP are full of hatred bcoz of insufficient self-satisfaction that provided by the govt.

Anonymous said...

you sporean shld feel lucky. look at most of the countries that are still fighting for their 3 meals. you sporean here still trying to protest the PAP govt to pamper you more. spore is die-ing soon than you pple will wake up your idea.

gayle said...

regarding the mentality of being grateful to the PAP for all they have done for us, i comment on it here:

http://i-speak.blogdrive.com/archive/148.html

i think we singaporeans owe it to ourselves to be a little more discerning than to be blindly grateful. yes, grateful, yes, appreciative, but a pampered slave has every right to want his freedom and his self-determination.
