"Muntazer al-Zaidi jumped up as Bush was holding a press conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on Sunday, shouted "It is the farewell kiss, you dog" and threw two shoes at the US leader." - AFP
.
"Al-Baghdadia television demands that the Iraqi authorities immediately release their stringer Muntadhar al-Zaidi, in line with the democracy and freedom of expression that the American authorities promised the Iraqi people"

Wow, For real?
Well Bush king deserve it anyway.
And he is still pushing for policies that is detrimental to the whole world (not American only) but beneficial to his companies(friends and those bailouted people) and then some.
Most likely, the Bush king must be impeach after he step down.
Hopefully it happen during Obama administration.

You see real freedom of speech here. I bet the Iraqi who threw the slippers won't end up in jail.

Imagine what would happen if you threw a slipper at Saddam Hussein. Or even at LKY?

It's embarrassing ... so near yet he missed the target!

Freedom of expression includes throwing shoes de meh?

If he throw the shoe at LKY, he will be charged for attempted murder in a Kangaroo Court!

I think the PAP leaders deserve better treatment:
Have their faces stamped flat by feet & their hearts ripped apart.

Throwing shoe at Bush is to show contempt for this war monger Bush.

Throwing shoe at LKY is to signal to him to stop farting through his mouth and patronizing his own LEE family with taxpayers' money.

Pity TV showed only the shoes being thrown, in the aftermath, the reporter was beaten, ribs broken, suffered a broken hand and internal bleeding, so much for the welcome of democracy with flowers...

It will cost the American a bomb to protect Bush from bullets after his term.

There is no doubt that his enemies will go for his jugular.

it's sad to learn that the journalist was badly being beaten up by the Bush's officials...and many parts of his body were broken...where is democracy as promised by Mr Bush?

looks like some Canadians are following the path of the journalist. They are staging 'shoe tossing anti-war protests' in Montreal and Toronto.

Considering that in Singapore planning or attempting attacks on the Prime Minister is punishable by death, and we all know how laid back and easy going the court system is in deciding the safety and all of the PM, I think the journalist getting away with a broken rib and bruised face is pretty light, wouldn't you say?
