Wikileaks : PAP govt's disdain for everyone else exposed....

So what else is new?....

Our diplomats have not been very diplomatic. Minister George Yeo calls it gossip or water cooler talk. Obviously the Americans didn't think it was gossip and diligently reported all this back to Washington. Sometimes you get to hear what someone really thinks at the water cooler when they let their guard down. Calling others losers, stupid and corrupted behind their backs when they are not around to defend themselves speak volumes about the characters whom we identify as our leaders. But really is all this even surprising? ...from an elitist govt that has show the same arrogance and disdain when dealing ordinary Singaporeans. Remember that they have called you daft, lesser mortals, lazy, champion complainers and small minded as you struggle to cope with their lopsided policies that increase your burden in life year after year.

It takes a kind of callousness and arrogence to behave is such a manner. That the PAP govt lack respect for ordinary citizens has been widely felt....they regard the ordinary Singaporeans they lead as lacking in talent, motivation and intelligence compared with the people they want to import. They merely extended this behavior in their dealing with foreign leaders. I'm still waiting for Wikileaks to reveal what other leaders have to say about our govt - apparently they are not so arrogant to run us down behind our backs.

To quote someone, all behaving like little LKYs.

Whatever is exposed, I think life will go on as usual, internally or externally with our neighbours.

Yes, initially there will be some hooha, but after some time it will die off. It had also happened before what, right? Remember the comment "... robbers and car jackers in JB" more than 10 years ago? If need be, just an apology and everything will be fine.

You think you can just insult someone and walk away fine? If you are one with pride, what would you do?

I suggest public servants and politicians refrain from saying things behind peoples' back if these remarks are not suitable for publication. dt

Remember the old fool once even boosted about 修身齐家治国平天下? See how hypocratic they can be? All got stucked in the first step. Obviously they have lots of self reflection to do.

There are plenty of leaks in the internet about the papies and the government they constitute.
Did they ever respond or take remedial action???

ahhhh... but note how the vitriol and disrespect are only reserved for the "3rd world nations", those deemed "inferior" to us... i seriously doubt if they dare to say the same of say, erm, Bill Clinton and his semen stains? or how about making a statement on George Bush and weapons of mass destruction? or China threatening countries who attend the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony?

i can accept bravado, and bravura, and outright cheekiness in a government. but please, at least have some balls and consistency.

Doesn't matter what they say and do. They still hold the reigns of power and will for years to come.

I'm Singaporean. I'm daft, lazy, small minded, a lesser mortal, and a champion complainer.

We should make it into a T-shirt.

Dear Lucky,

Could you point to me some facts as to your claim that there is a minister who called us "lesser mortals'? Is this for real?

If it is, I'll be damned.

Anonymous said...

@ anon it is not by a minister but by an MP charles chong

Now the costs of everything are already unbearable!!
Can you imagine what would be the costs in the next 5 years if the same attitide continue?

Anonymous said...

Whatever the costs, the disdain, the million $ pay, the number of foreign talents, etc, etc, there will still be peace and stability in Singapore for a long, long time.

We are not uniquely Singapore for nothing.

We don't anyhow say other people incompetent for nothing. Because we are very competent. Or else why would there be 98% seats in PArliament? Not for nothing, you know.

That's also why Wikileaks never leak out anything negative about what other people say about us. Because there is nothing negative about us to leak!

I am surprised that no foreign leader has commented at the water cooler talks about our Singapore-style meritocracy - that the bulk of our key talents can be found within the same family!

When floods do occur, The North Face Sale the water, though turbid for the time, subsides rapidly and soon becomes clear again. Below Hertford, floods are liable to act injuriously, the water remaining longer on the adjoining marsh lands. Mr. Beardmore stated that heavy floodings had taken place in May 1824, in November 1852, and in October 1857, and that at such times large areas of land were, laid under water for several days. Skechers Shoes The marsh-lands on both sides of the lower Thames are not subject to such flooding, as the embankments are found to be sufficient to shut out the tides, and the primitive sewers, marsh-ditches, and tidal outlet-sluices regulate the delivery of flood waters so as to prevent injury to land. The marsh districts on both sides of the lower Lee are now subject to the double evil of flooding and droughts; during long continued dry weather the surface cracks until there are fissures several feet in depth. Flood water is passed much more rapidly down the valley of the Lee in consequence The North Face Sale of the improvements made of late years in the navigation by dredging the channels. Much, however, remains to be done which would improve the conditions of the marsh-land and the health of the people. The evidence as to the water-mills proves that in many instances the dams and ponds act injuriously by preventing land drainage and impeding floods. However useful Discount G Star Sale water-power may have been in former times, when these mills were first established, that use has now been greatly reduced in relative value, and, wherever there is sufficient trade to The North Face Sale make grinding corn a profitable occupation, steam-power has to be brought in as an auxiliary, the improved navigation and railway accommodation facilitating the delivery of coals so as to give an advantage to steam over the constantly alternating and uncertain flow of water. Water-power having diminished in commercial value, and land for agricultural purposes having greatly increased in value, injury to the adjoining lands may be shown to cause an annual money loss to the district Shape Ups Boots. To this money loss must be added injury to health by the retention of large areas of undrained land. Water-mills and mill-dams are proved to be injurious to local properties, but we have no evidence as to any serious pollutions being caused by these mills, other than so far as they cause a partial stagnation in the water and accumulations of mud by ponding.
