Surprise! Tan Cheng Bock in close fight as counting progresses....

....heard this from the counting centers. The remaining vots is from the West which should favor him.

The only people who handed me something related to the PE last week were TCB supporters. I was at an MRT station and they give me a few stickers. Friends reported they received a viral SMS urging them to consider voting for TCB and his campaign brochure was sent to most households. Still, I did not think he could garner enough votes to take the lead given it has been a long time since his term as MP and PAP supporters are likely to vote for Tony Tan and opposition supporters will choose among the 3 non PAP endorsed candidates.

TCB's close fight with Dr. Tony Tan could be due to his extensive campaign and reaching out to ground. Many of his former constituents and patients came out to support his campaign.

His campaign slogan  "Think Singaporeans First" has perhaps rung a bell for the many Singaporeans who today are feeling they have been moved to 2nd place.

TCB and TT are closest to PAP.

Contrary to what is widely perceived, this is an advantage, not a disadvantage because of the 60.1% PAP support they can expect.

So TCB leading in the vote count, although not that expected, is also not really surprising.

Both Tan Cheng Bock and Tony Tan are ok. Tan Cheng Bock spoke up in 1987 in support of the arrest of the Marxist conspirators. This is a man who understands putting the nation above the individual. He is a safe pair of hands who will not rock the boat and threaten the stability of Singapore. This is why Tan Cheng Bock was the first non cabinet minister elected into the PAP Central Executive Committee. He has already said that he will work within the boundaries of the constitution. The role of the President can be simply ceremonial and custodial and it is more important to have someone likeable like Tan Cheng Bock. Therefore I will be very comfortable with him as President.

The ruling party will effect constitutional changes which will change the nature of the EP so as to avoid the possiblity of them losing the presidency in the future to an unknown. This election was a close call for them.

rafflesians has called TKL TJS both to give way so that non establishment vote could go to TCB. If they heed the call somebody today will have to shift their office out. A four corner fight simply benefit the endorsed candidate. How else would TJS application been approved anyway said TKL. ....now sadly to find unbiased account of our reserves remain elusive as ever, Singaporean is the real losers.

Ha Ha Ha

Strategy and unity in elections is very important.

Example of Strategy - GRC system for GE, PEC and number of COEs for PE.

And if you are not as strong as opponent, never mind but at least be united.

Those who lose never learn or don't want to learn.

If not, they deserve to lose or worse lose deposit!

Pity TCB. Although not my choice, but still better choice than TT. If only TKL had not run, TCB would most probably have been elected!

Prepare for continuous influx of tsunami of foreigners to Singapore since the election is over.

Unemployed Singaporeans can give up finding for jobs as all jobs go to foreigners.

Existing employed Singaporeans jobs are to be replaced by foreigners. These existing Singaporeans will become unemployed very soon.

Prepare to be drown by foreigners if you are not prepared yet.
Have Singaporeans wake up?
Are Singaporeans still dreaming?
Singaporeans have commit a very heavy mistake and they have to repent for the next 5 to 6 years.

I would say that this is an interesting PE in which both parts of the opposition and the ruling party come off worse. TT, despite having the government machinery behind him, ended up with a marginal victory which can be construed as a slap in the face of the PAP. TJS, despite knowing that he could never defeat TCB and TT, went ahead to stand for office. Argue all you want but there was no way an opposition figure could have attracted many votes of the moderates. While he has improved his image amongst the most hardcore of the opposition supporters, I believe he has effectively turned some of the modertate supporters off.

Another very sad day , and sad to say it is also the beginning of the End. The already farcical constituition will be changed further like mentioned.
The entrance for FTs both blue & white collared will be thrown wide open...again. Showtime is over & done with . The Wayang tru the mainstream media worked ! Most sheeps sitting infront of their TVs & reading the newspapers (weapons of mass destruction intoduced right into your homes paid for by you) bought into their posturing, fearmongering & voted TT....or simply played safe, destroyed their precious vote , sat on the fence. Thats 3 to 4 singaporeans out of every 10 !
Singaporeans are disunited. In watching out for their very own interest....upgrading , hdb or asset value , their civil service or quasi govt jobs...they decided to once again lay down with devil and in so doing condemn themselves & their future generations to untold miseries as rats in the rat race & mere cogs in the wheel. When a person having seen or heard of injustices, bullying or witnessed the suffering & struggles of fellow singaporeans , be they the poor or the middle or people on the other side of the political fence and yet choose to look the other way, they have sold themselves out.

This time round, the social media was the one giving highly skewed and biased reporting. Websites like TRE was moderated to include only pro-TJS comments to gave false impression TJS had the best chance against TT. Had one been closer to the ground and less reliant on the Internet (moderated), one would know that the biggest contender that PAP was afraid of was TCB. Singaporeans should learn from this humbing experience. Not all ex-PAP members are bad. And not all ex-SDP members are good. PAP only consider TCB a real threat.
